Farpointe DK-13 MIFARE Keyfob (1K, Per Piece)
Every access control ecosystem has its quiet workhorse, and in the Farpointe lineup this is it: a plain, sturdy MIFARE 1K fob that costs $6.60 and is sold by the piece. No sealed tube of twenty-five when you need eleven. A landlord doing two move-ins buys two fobs; a forty-unit building buys forty. That flexibility is the entire sales pitch, and for a lot of buildings it’s enough.
The chip inside is standard 13.56 MHz MIFARE with 1K of memory — the format that half the world’s readers grew up on. For basic door access, 1K is plenty; the credential carries its ID, the reader reads it, the controller makes the decision. If your system stores more on the credential — multi-application setups, cashless features — step up to the 4K-memory DK-43 for a couple dollars more.
The one honest caveat with any MIFARE fob: “MIFARE-compatible” covers a wide family, and readers differ in which part of the chip they actually read. That’s a five-minute check against your exact reader model, and we do it before a single fob is ordered — it’s the difference between a working credential and a keychain decoration. Send us your reader model or a photo and we’ll confirm fit and quantity pricing in one reply.
