Access Control
Access control systems manage who enters your building, when they can enter, and provide an auditable record of every access event. From simple card-reader setups for a single office door to multi-site cloud-managed deployments across dozens of entry points, the hardware you choose determines the long-term reliability, user experience, and management capabilities of the system. Vidimost installs Brivo and Paxton access control systems across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs..

Readers & Keypads
Readers and keypads are the device at the door that authenticates a credential — a card, fob, phone, or PIN — and signals the access control panel to release the lock. The right reader depends on three things: the platform it talks to (Brivo cloud, HID-compatible enterprise, or Paxton), the credentials your people will carry (mobile, smart card, legacy Prox, or PIV), and the environment it lives in (lobby, exterior, vandal-prone, or single-door auxiliary).
Controllers
Access control controllers are the brains behind the door — they receive credential data from the reader, make the access decision, and trigger the lock to release. The controller also maintains event logs, schedules, and communication with the management platform.
Credentials
Credentials are what your tenants, employees, and visitors carry to gain entry. The credential technology you choose affects user convenience, security level, and management overhead.
Garage Tag Readers
Garage and parking tag readers provide automated vehicle identification at parking entrances, garage gates, and gated communities. Using UHF RFID technology, these readers detect vehicle-mounted tags from several meters away — allowing hands-free entry without drivers needing to lower windows or present credentials manually.
Locks
Electronic and wireless smart locks combine the lock cylinder, the credential reader, and the access control logic into a single device at the door — no panel-room wiring, no hard-wired reader, no electric strike. The lock itself decides whether to open.
Door Hardware
Door hardware is the mechanical interface between the access control system and the physical door. Electric strikes, electromagnetic locks, request-to-exit sensors, and door contacts must be properly matched to the door type, frame construction, and fire/life-safety requirements of the installation.
