Best Fit & Recommended For
HID ProxPro 5355K Proximity Keypad Reader
The ProxPro 5355K Proximity Keypad Reader is a single-gang-format 125 kHz proximity reader from HID Global. It is one of the most widely deployed access control readers in commercial buildings, providing reliable card-based door access with broad controller compatibility. The integrated keypad adds PIN code entry for card-plus-PIN dual authentication at higher-security doors.
Industry Standard
HID Proximity (125 kHz) is the legacy standard for commercial access control, compatible with virtually every access control panel on the market. The ProxPro 5355K uses the Wiegand protocol for controller communication.
Migration Path
While 125 kHz Prox remains functional, it is vulnerable to card cloning. For a security upgrade, HID multiCLASS SE readers can replace Prox readers at the door while continuing to read existing Prox cards — allowing a gradual transition to smart card or mobile credentials.
Single-Gang Design
The single-gang form factor provides a clean wall-mount installation with extended read range for lobby entrances and high-traffic doors.
