Brivo ACS6100 Expansion Chassis
Every ACS6100 install eventually hits the same wall: the building keeps adding doors, and one day there’s no slot left in the main chassis for another board. That’s the whole reason this box exists. The expansion chassis is a second enclosure that hangs next to the main panel and gives you fresh real estate for more two-door boards — so the system keeps growing on the same platform, same dashboard, without ripping out the panel that’s already wired and working.
It comes in two sizes, matching how Brivo sizes the panels themselves: the Regular (B-ACS6100R-EXP) is the one we quote for roughly eight added doors of boards, and the Large (B-ACS6100L-EXP) roughly doubles that — Brivo’s own add-on bundles pair them with 8-door and 16-door board sets, which tells you how they’re meant to be loaded. Which one makes sense isn’t really about today’s door count; it’s about where the building is headed. A property that just leased two more floors wants the Large even if only half of it gets populated this year — boards are the cheap part to add later, a second chassis swap is not.
This is not a standalone controller — no brain of its own, it extends a main ACS6100 or ACS6000 panel. If you’re starting from zero, that’s the page to start on; if the doors are spread across remote corners of the property instead of stacked near one panel room, distributed ACS300-E-B panels are usually the better shape. We handle the sizing math on every quote — chassis, boards, power, and battery backup as one line item, not a parts list you have to assemble yourself. Reach out and we’ll spec it against your floor plan.
