Tyco Security System Service in Chicago

Now part of Johnson Controls — Tyco fire and security systems serviced and upgraded by Vidimost.

The Tyco Legacy in Building Security

Tyco International was founded in 1960 and grew through aggressive acquisitions into one of the world’s largest fire protection and security companies. Tyco’s security portfolio included ADT (later spun off), DSC, Kantech, American Dynamics, Software House, and Sensormatic — brands that collectively installed security systems in millions of commercial properties worldwide.

In 2016, Tyco merged with Johnson Controls to form Johnson Controls International, bringing together Tyco’s security and fire expertise with Johnson Controls’ building automation technology.

Tyco Systems in Chicago

Many Chicago commercial buildings still run Tyco-era security equipment: DSC panels, Kantech access controllers, American Dynamics cameras, and C-CURE (Software House) access control platforms. We service, maintain, and upgrade these legacy systems, providing migration paths to current-generation platforms when end-of-life hardware requires replacement.

Call (872) 254-5015 or email [email protected] for legacy Tyco system assessment.

Tyco-Era Systems Still on the Wall

‘Tyco’ on a panel usually means a system from the Johnson Controls empire’s earlier chapters — Kantech access control, DSC intrusion, American Dynamics video. Chicago buildings are full of this generation, often still functional, always poorly documented.

We speak the ecosystem: Kantech door controllers we can service or migrate to Brivo door by door, reusing readers and wiring where formats allow. The building keeps working through the whole transition — the takeover page explains the parallel-run approach we use.
