Compact Equipment Racks

Not every location warrants a full wall-mount cabinet. Compact equipment racks provide standard 19-inch (or 10-inch) rack mounting in the smallest possible footprint — housing a switch, patch panel, or power supply in utility spaces, above ceiling tiles, or under counters.

Minimal Footprint, Proper Mounting

Even a single PoE switch benefits from rack mounting rather than sitting loose on a shelf. Compact racks provide proper airflow orientation, secure cable management, and a clean installation in spaces where a larger cabinet would not fit.

Flexible Placement

Desktop, wall, and shelf-mount options allow compact racks to adapt to the constraints of each location. Vidimost selects the right form factor based on the available space and the equipment that needs to be housed.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I use a compact rack instead of a wall-mount cabinet? +
Compact racks are best when you only need to mount one or two rack devices — a single switch and a patch panel, for example. If your equipment list exceeds 6U, a standard wall-mount cabinet is a better investment.
Can compact racks be secured? +
Some compact rack models include locking covers or doors. For installations where physical security is important, Vidimost recommends a lockable wall-mount cabinet even if the equipment count is small.
