UniFi Standard 24 PoE

The UniFi Standard 24 PoE delivers managed switching and PoE power at a lower price point than the Pro Max line. For security projects where port speeds beyond Gigabit are unnecessary and the camera count is moderate, this switch provides the same UniFi management experience without the premium cost.

With 16 PoE ports and a 95W PoE budget, this switch is best suited for deployments with 6-10 cameras or a mix of cameras and access control readers. The remaining 8 non-PoE ports serve devices with their own power supplies or provide uplinks to other parts of the network.

Vidimost specifies the Standard 24 PoE for cost-conscious projects in the Chicago area where the device count and bandwidth requirements do not justify a higher-tier switch. It integrates fully with the UniFi management platform for VLANs, monitoring, and PoE scheduling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Gigabit Ethernet fast enough for security cameras? +
Yes. Most IP cameras stream at 5-20 Mbps, well within GbE capacity. The Standard 24 PoE handles typical camera workloads without issues. The 2.5GbE Pro Max switches add headroom for future devices.
Why is the PoE budget lower on the Standard model? +
The Standard 24 PoE provides PoE on 16 of its 24 ports with a 95W total budget. This is sufficient for 6-10 typical cameras but not for full-port PoE. Budget your power requirements before selecting this switch.
