Overview
The Axis A1610 is a network door controller that brings access control into the Axis IP ecosystem. It supports two doors with up to four readers, connects via PoE (no separate power supply), and integrates natively with AXIS Camera Station for unified video and access management.
For organizations already invested in Axis cameras, the A1610 provides a natural path to adding access control without introducing a completely separate platform. Events from door access and camera video can be correlated in a single interface.
Open Platform Advantage
Unlike proprietary access control systems that lock you into a single vendor’s readers and software, the A1610 supports both OSDP and Wiegand reader protocols. This means you can use readers from multiple manufacturers while keeping the Axis controller at the core.
Cybersecurity Focus
Axis has built serious cybersecurity into the A1610: signed firmware, secure boot, TPM 2.0, and encrypted communications. For office buildings and organizations where IT security policies are strict, this matters. The controller is designed to be a secure network citizen rather than a vulnerability.
