Taiwan’s Veteran Surveillance Platform
GeoVision Inc. was founded in 1998 in Taipei, Taiwan, and was one of the earliest companies to develop PC-based video surveillance systems. In the early 2000s, GeoVision’s capture cards and Windows-based VMS software were a popular and affordable entry point for businesses adopting digital surveillance. The company has since expanded into IP cameras, NVRs, access control, and analytics.
GeoVision products have been installed in commercial properties worldwide, including many Chicago buildings that adopted digital surveillance in the 2005–2015 era. While newer platforms from Hanwha, Axis, and others have become the go-to for new installations, existing GeoVision systems continue to operate in many properties.
