2GIG Technologies was founded in 2008 in Lehi, Utah, and made its name by introducing all-in-one touchscreen security panels that combined intrusion detection, cellular communication, and Z-Wave home automation in a single wall-mounted device. The 2GIG Go!Control (GC2) panel disrupted the traditional alarm market by eliminating separate keypads and communicators.

2GIG was acquired by Nortek Control (now Nice/Nortek), and the brand continues to develop touchscreen alarm panels for the residential and light-commercial market. 2GIG panels are most commonly paired with the Alarm.com monitoring and automation platform.
